"It only took 40 years of experience on George's part to be in a position to pull this group together for three days of learning! Great stuff. If you are called to serve churches, get in on this." --Norman Jameson. Attended Fall 2016

Meals and Refreshments

CCRetreat MealOne of the highlights of the Congregational Champions Retreats in the home of Betty and George Bullard is the meal and the refreshment service offered. Betty is a wonderful cook, and works continuously throughout the retreat to provide inviting meals and refreshments.

Betty also works hard to accommodate people who have special dietary needs to be sure they have appropriate and sufficient food.

Delightful refreshments start the minute people walk into the Bullard home. Refreshments appropriate to the time of day are presented to guests in the living room. For meals, the dining room is beautifully set for three course meals on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and two course luncheons on Wednesday and Thursday.

No one goes without a sufficient amount of quality food. For some this is the highlight of the retreat. The sharing of George has a hard time matching the magnificence of the meal and refreshment service. But, that is fine with both Betty and George!

27 Books That Have Impacted My Ministry as a Congregational Champion

Stacks of BooksI have read thousands of books during my life. Probably 90 percent of them have been non-fiction books. The picture with this blog post is a good representation of the stacks of books in my office when I lacked the shelf space for them.

As I begin the four-year Legacy Season of my ministry this month, and prepare to lead/teach seven Congregational Champions Retreats this fall--see www.CongregationalChampions.info--I have picked out 27 books that have had a direct impact on my approach to consulting and coaching with congregations and those who work with congregations as a third-party provider.

You can see these 27 books and brief comments about them HERE. I will likely add more to the list.
