Nothing about the controversy surrounding Duke University’s Lacrosse team drove my wife and me to Duke Chapel for worship on Easter. It was personal. Our daughter is a student at Duke Divinity School. This was probably our last opportunity to attend worship with her at Duke before she graduates.
Easter. We could not think of a better day to attend. We were not disappointed. The quality of the worship experience was great.
This is the third time this academic year we have gone to Sunday worship at Duke Chapel. That is enough times to learn the order of worship and liturgy. It has a predictable pattern much like the worship services in many congregations.

Second, I invite you to evaluate how Easter worship was handled in your congregation. It was certainly a day when many congregations tried to make their best effort at having quality worship. Was your worship one that sought to show the congregation the resurrected Christ? Or, did it seek to impress the attendees with the performance nature of worship in your congregation?
