Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the five congregations of the Eastminster Presbytery in Ohio as they engage in a Spiritual Strategic Journey process. They began in February 2012 and will continue for a year.
  • Pray for the Reformed Church in America and their efforts in congregational multiplication and congregational revitalization that may indeed transform their denomination for 21st century service. They are truly working to transform the capacity of their denomination to full the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment.
  • Pray for the new vision of The Columbia Partnership that seek to empower the transformation of 2100 congregations per year by the end of 2017. Pray that we may be able to connect with an increasing number of congregations who desire to reach their full kingdom potential.
  • Pray for the First United Presbyterian Church of Alliance, OH as they craft and then live into their future ministry. Pray for the pastor's family as they deal with a life challenge of a daughter.
  • Pray for the Oak Grove Untied Methodist Church in Decatur, GA as they now work on their Future Story Fulfillment Map to live into a great new future story of ministry. Pray for the pastor's family as their deal with a severe health crisis of an adult child.
  • Pray for the work of the Baptist World Alliance led by Neville Callam, and its North American Baptist Fellowship that I lead, as we anticipate 2012 as a year that will significantly move forward our work among Baptists worldwide. Pray specifically for our NABF's 50th anniversary as celebrate our missional collaboration.
  • Pray for the Ministries Council of the Church of God [Anderson] as they work on crafting their future story of ministry, and also transition to a new leader as the search begins for the next leader.

George’s vision is to use his spiritual and strategic giftedness to empower congregations and congregational champions to fulfill their vision for Kingdom growth.

In Baptist denominational service George was one of the organizational architects during the 1970s of the a North American emphasis on congregational redevelopment known as PACT, was the primary organizational architect during the early 1980s of the Mega Focus Cities effort that addressed the Great Commission and Great Commandment challenges in the 50 largest megalopolitan areas of the United States, was the primary organizational architect during the early 1990s of the first round of the Empowering Kingdom Growth emphasis of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, and has been the primary architect of the Pursuing Vital Ministry emphasis of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina since 2001. George has coached numerous local, regional and national denominational organizations among various Baptist groups. Since 1996, George’s ministry has been expanded to include work with various denominational families throughout North America. Among them are Assemblies of God, Baptist, Christian (Disciples of Christ), Christian and Missionary Alliance, Christian Reformed, Church of God (Cleveland), Episcopal, Evangelical Covenant, Evangelical Free, Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal Holiness, Presbyterian, Wesleyan, and other denominational, non-denominational, and parachurch groups.

George is widely recognized as an advisor to denominational leaders, a futurist, a strategic planning expert, a group process facilitator, a church growth strategist, an authority in conflict management, and a writer. He has extensively developed a life cycle model for congregations, which helps congregational leaders know what types of assistance they may need to best facilitate growth.

Strategic planning, church growth, and conflict management consultations and training have been a major part of George’s denominational service during the past twenty-seven years. He has provided in-depth consultation services to more than 500 congregations and denominational organizations. He has led or assisted in training more than 1000 denominational workers in strategic planning, church growth, and conflict management consultation skills.
